Biography: Michael Elkanan's photography reflects his training and perspective as an architect and, at the same time, seeks to highlight the astounding beauty and increasing fragility of our natural world. Michael is especially drawn to the earth's polar, desert, and coastal regions. The elemental beauty of these landscapes appeals to Michael's contemplative sensibilities. His minimalist aesthetic aims to communicate tranquility and transcendence, impermanence and change, through his experience of solitude and silence in these beautiful, liminal locations.
