"Mesquite Sand Dunes- Death Valley National Park, CA"
Analog 6x17 capture- Part of a grant I received form the NEA and NPS
Biography: Cody concentrates his focus on abandoned
farms, crumbling homes, neglected churches, aging
cemeteries, forgotten cars and other objects, set within
the vastness of the southwestern landscape. By working
almost entirely with infrared film, he captures the
surreal dreamscape of "The Western Abandon".
The wide range of cameras he uses, varying from a 4x5 to
6x17 panoramic, and also various formats of pinhole
cameras, reflect the narrative of a bygone era.
The analog captures are then scanned and output
as black and white digital chromogenic prints.
