"Street Life"
Walkway through a poor neighborhood. Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania. 2017
Biography: Malter studied business economics in Berlin, holds a Ph.D. in strategic management from the University of Maryland, and was assistant professor of business adminstration at Harvard Business School. After his academic appointment ended in 2018, he lived in Buenos Aires for 18 months and documented the small barrio of San Telmo and los pibes de Chaca y Mexico, a group of young men who spend most of their nights on that street corner 15 minutes from the presidential palace. The country is in a deep economic crisis with bleak prospects for undereducated youth. They let me in and we became friends.
