Frenchie, a skinhead, and his dog Lucifer in New York's East Village
Biography: I was born in Bolzano, Italy, a city in the Italian Alps and immigrated to Brooklyn, NY when I was eight years old. My photography focuses on individuals who are outside the mainstream of the larger society. Some of my subjects have been punks, skinheads, inner city youth, amateur boxers, immigrants, and South Bronx gang members. I explore how individuals who, either by choice or because they are seen as the “other,” live outside the dominant culture.
