1st Place - Outstanding Achievement

"Resting Place"

I had set out this particular evening planning to explore and photograph the Wylie Bay sand dunes. However, when I arrived, heavy cloud had settled on the horizon blocking any strong light from breaking through at sunset. I found this scene along the coastline of a boulder looking to be held in perfect balance in this channel between to large sections of rock rising out of the land. The water let my eye right to the boulder and with a bit of wind about I was also able to capture some nice textured in the foreground water. Sometimes you have to be prepared to change your plans and be willing to pursue different possibilities when conditions are not what you had planned for.
