"Beaten by the Wind"
My 9 month trip in New Zealand took me to Slope Point, the most southerly point of the South island in New Zealand. Facing the Southern Ocean it receives the full brunt of the extreme weather coming from the South. Despite the regular high winds, some trees survive there, although they are well battered by the winds. On the day I visited, there wasn't even a puff of wind, but just looking at the landscape one could almost feel the power of the winds here.
