"Nave, Durham Cathedral"
Biography: In architecture I'm fascinated by the drama in the interplay of form and function, while in my photographs I'm attempting to capture this through elements of the physical structure in the context of the function of that space. My work explores one of the finest architectural achievements - the great medieval English cathedrals. The awe-inspiring scale and majestic proportions of the spaces and their relationship to prayer and worship have been almost unchanged for 700+ years and I never fail to be astounded by the imagination and skills of those who conceived and built them.
